About Science and Humanities
Department of Science and Humanities comprises of the faculty of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. Faculty members of the department have rich academic experience in respective areas and research experience with outstanding research publications in reputed journals. The Unique strength of the department is the excellent coordination in carrying out the academic responsibilities. It caters to the needs of the society and carves the younger generation into good citizens, leading the budding engineers in path of success. The department has separate block which includes state-of-the-art laboratories and advanced library facilities.
Department of English
Any guide to leadership puts communication at the top of the list of good management skills. And good written communication skills start with a command of the language. Whether or not English is your first language, we all might have something to gain by brushing up on grammar and sentence construction. To assist in that endeavor is our Department of English with a well equipped Communication lab.
Department of Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics with its strength of dedicated, rich experienced and well qualified staff members help students learn maths with less effort and great deal of interest. Mathematics differs from natural sciences in that physical theories in the sciences are tested by experiments, while mathematical statements are supported by proofs which may be verified objectively by mathematicians. Physical theories may be expected to change whenever new information about our physical world is discovered. Mathematics changes in a different way: new ideas don't falsify old ones but rather are used to generalize what was known before to capture a broader range of phenomena.
Department of Physics
The Department of Physics provides the students with the opportunity to educate themselves with the various concepts in Physics what scientists have traditionally spent years of labor and study to understand. Experiments can sharpen students' powers of observation, stimulate questions, and help develop new understanding and vocabulary. The Department has a well equipped laboratory to help the students in enabling them to share their skills and experience of making experiments work in the classroom.
Department of Chemistry
Learning Chemistry helps the students understand how chemistry is present everywhere in our daily life. But most of us do not recognize the real involvement of Chemistry in our lives. The Department provides with the necessary insight one must have to learn the marvels of Chemistry. Laboratory work is an essential element in pupil learning which cannot be adequately replaced by other approaches. The Department has a well equipped laboratory which provides a positive contribution to understanding Chemistry.
Computer Laboratory
KSSED Polytechnic has developed the most optimum and advance computer center. All the computers are connected via a Local Area Network. The hardware configuration of the computer center are D2C processors and equipped with latest version of software`s and provides internet connectivity round the clock to students on totally cost free basis. The internet facility is provided with uninterrupted 2 MBPS lease line with contention ratio 1:1. This lab also having overhead Projector, Slide Projector, DVD Player, TV & PA System.
ENGINEERING Workshop
Workshop building of our polytechnic is spacious and has a light roof truss type ceiling with sufficient height and good ventilation. The institution has all the required workshops such as Carpentry & Painting Shop, Machine Shop, Fitting Shop, Welding Shop and Smithy Shop. These workshops have been provided with all the necessary modern facilities for imparting basic skills in workshop practice.
To achieve the success in the field of job for an engineer, it is necessary to know the application of theory knowledge which is done in practice of workshop practical. Sound knowledge of workshop practical makes students a high class quality of working. Workshop is active and effective part of technical education in our institute. The manufacturing process depends upon the type of job. Generally, the job includes raw material, cutting, drilling, turning & facing, milling & parting off, inspection and dispatch. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) persons can establish these kinds of units for self-employment. The market for general engineering workshop has got wide scope due to fast growth of industrialization, especially in the service sector. Spares for automobile, machine etc. can be manufactured.
Machine Shop
In machine shop the students perform various operations on jobs on different machines like Lathe, Shaper, Milling, Drilling, Grinding Machines etc.
Welding Shop :
Welding is a fabrication technique. The students learn various techniques of welding in this shop. They acquire welding skills on Arc welding/gas welding equipments.
Carpentry Shop :
In carpentry shop students acquire knowledge of different types of woods used in engineering. They learn how to design a pattern. Besides these the following shops are also available in workshop:

Language Laboratory
Communications skill is an important part of the overall personality impact of the students in the industry. So, to enable the students to have a world class communicating skills we have a fully developed communications skills lab with latest audio-visual equipments like OHP's (Over Head Projectors) & computer systems with all the latest multimedia applications, software’s and 24X7 internet facility for developing the reading, writing, listening and above all superior public speaking skills in the students of the institute.
